2013  CAFE UPDATE:  Well, it's been almost three years now since we opened the cafe. It has been a struggle to operate the cafe and the farm both. We have experienced difficulties all along the way, but I always say....go on! We started 2013 off with great optimism but got hit right away with a sewer line replacement at the tune of $11,000 and our mocha  machine broke and had to be replaced at a cost of $2500.00. The only bright spot here is the fact that we never got our landscaping done and that ended up being a good thing as the entire back yard is now dug up. SO..........we start all over again.

Landscaping will be completed this year and a festival will hopefully be in the works for 2014. 

We have come out with some new proucts along the way. One being a 32 oz hot or cold drink size. Can you say  GI-NORMUS??? We introduced it on Feb. 1st and it has already taken off.   We also offer home made soups and have joined forces with Jim Bob's bakery for fresh baked bread on our sandwiches. 

Lavender News!!  We have replaced the container on our famous Melt Aways. They are now available in a deodorant type tube. They are smaller than the originals so the price has been reduced making it easier to buy more than one and making it easier to apply. Now all the product will be available in the tube and you no longer need to dig out what was left in the old container. I still have a few of the old container left and as they sell, they will be taken off the website. The new  ones are already on the website for your ordering pleasure. We also have had a hit with our lavender baking extract. What a great idea for consistant baking.  We are going to offer fresh cut lavender bouquets on a pre-order basis. These will be ordered in advance by you and shipped the day they are cut in the fields. (aprox. July) They are the same price as regular dried bundles so just order that item and in the customer comment box, write the word FRESH. After July 31st, they will no longer be available for the season. So get your orders in now to reserve your fresh lavender bouquet. I can smell it now...can you?  I can fit two bundles in one shipping box for aprox. $ 5.95 shipping. So it makes sense to get two. Once you receive your shipment, simply place bundles in a dry vase. Do not add water. Let them dry that way naturally (takes about 1-2 weeks) Enjoy them like that or take them out and wrap the stems with ribbon and give as a wonderful aromatic gift. After they have sat for a while, then place them in a towel and wrap. Rub/roll on a table or other hard surface to remove buds. Take the buds and put them in a sock, baby bootie or hanky and squeeze them. Still smells great yes? Place them in your sock, underware or lingere drawer for many years. Take the stems and burn them in your fireplace or firepit as fire starters. Isn't it great? Nothing goes to waste.
